Statement For Press by the Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on the Outcomes of the First Trilateral Meeting Armenia-Cyprus-Greece
The statement for the press by the Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on the Outcomes of the First Trilateral Meeting Armenia-Cyprus-Greece namely reads:
Thank you very much, dear Nikos, Giorgos.
I want to say how very excited we are for the launch of this very important and very promising platform of trilateral cooperation between Armenia, Greece and Cyprus. Nikos, thank you very much for the comprehensive summary of the purposes that we have identified for our work within this trilateral format. I absolutely second everything you said and it leaves very limited space for me to add things. I only want to underline that this is a very important platform in amplifying the traditional friendship that exists between the three nations.
It’s a historical friendship, it’s a civilizational value-based friendship, which we, as sovereign states, as nation states, translate into pragmatism, into cooperation to the benefit of our nations and our peoples. And I also want to emphasize that this is a cooperation, the objectives of which are peace, stability and cooperation for us and for the region. Thank you, once again, for the hospitality, Nikos, thank you for this very productive meetings we had today, and we continue our discussions. Giorgos, thank you very much.
I think that we have already outlined the next steps in this trilateral format, which will bring in various colleagues and other stakeholders who are direct participants in our cooperation. And I look forward to those next phases, as well, once again, thank you for the hospitality.
I think I’d be very glad to announce that I have mentioned the continuity of this platform and the intention to expand the participants in this platform․ and I’d also be glad to announce today that the Summit, the meeting of the leaders in this trilateral format has been discussed and envisaged already․ We look forward in Armenia to welcome the trilateral meeting of the leaders, the trilateral summit to take place in the near future at a time that we can agree amongst ourselves․
I think we will show this is very important, very engaging trilateral platform, and our leaders will make a very important contribution of their own to consolidate this platform. We in Armenia very much look forward to welcome the leadership of our partners, our friends, brothers, Cyprus and Greece. I look forward to that day as well.
Thank you.
