PM Receives EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Toivo Klaar, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia.

Evoking the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the Prime Minister highlighted the need for continued development and expansion of EU-Armenia relations. Nikol Pashinyan assured of Armenia’s strong commitment to developing democracy, implementing drastic reforms in the judicial system, and protecting human rights. In this context, he noted that the CEPA may well bolster the reforms underway in the priority areas.

In turn, Toivo Klaar said the EU keen to ensure dynamic development of relationships with Armenia. He assured of their willingness to back Armenia in its reform-targeted efforts.

The interlocutors referred to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement process. Prime Minister Pashinyan underscored that Armenia strives for an exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict and is fully committed to the talks held in the OSCE Minsk Group format.

The Armenian Prime Minister and the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia exchanged views on regional issues and developments.
