Sasin told online broadcaster wp.pl that the anniversary observances will be held in Warsaw and not in Westerplatte, as originally planned, because "Warsaw is the capital of Poland," where the most important state ceremonies are organised.

Polish President Andrzej Duda has sent invitations to all leaders of the countries forming the anti-Nazi alliance during World WarII and currently their attendance is being conrmed. According to the Polish President's Ofce, President Duda has invited leaders of all NATO, EU and Eastern Partnership countries, as well as the UN secretary-general to attend. "We have invited a wide group of world leaders, so we expect and we are convinced that it will be a world event," Sasin said.
