The velvet revolution was essentially a startup because there was initially a small group of people who had an idea, presented it to the public and managed to convince them that the idea was important and that there was a prospect for victory, and every Armenian wanted to make his or her contribution. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said during his meeting with the participants of Sevan Startup Summit 2019, stating that all citizens need to be able to localize that idea.
“Today, many people in Armenia complain that there is no funding, but the Armenian government tries to convince those people every day that the important thing is the idea, not funding. If a person can convince others that the idea can help achieve victory, funds will be procured,” Pashinyan said, emphasizing that this is the government’s vision for an economic revolution, that is, to have everyone have the opportunity to implement their ideas.
“Each person needs to understand that he is talented, and first of all, he has to believe in himself so that he can make others believe in him. This is the idea of the startup of the new Armenia. The new Armenia is essentially a startup that has gained so much momentum that it will be impossible to stop it,” he said, News.am reports.
