Zakharova on Exchange of Prisoners of War in Karabakh Conflict Zone

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova does not consider it necessary to provide additional political comments on issues related to  prisoners of war in the Karabakh conflict zone, ArmInfo reports. 

So, on September 4, during a weekly briefing, answering the question  about Azerbaijan's reluctance to return its citizens, including the  military, to the Armenian side, in August of this year, under unclear  circumstances, who appeared on the Azerbaijani side, the  representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed conviction  that these issues are necessary decide in existing and established  formats for this.  "They are. And I don't think that there is a need  for me to give additional political comments, since we really have  existing mechanisms. And the co-chairs can, if necessary, use  additional mechanisms to assist the parties," she said.

At the same time, Zakharova added that if the relevant parties need  additional support, for example, from the same Russia on this issue,  then it can be discussed in bilateral formats through diplomatic  channels.
