RA Prime Minister, India Ambassador Discuss Issues of Economic Cooperation
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received newly appointed India Ambassador to Armenia Kishan Dan Dewal.
Congratulating the Ambassador on assumption of office, the Prime Minister wished him productive work to the benefit of the Armenian-Indian relations. Nikol Pashinyan recalled his September meeting with Indian Premier Narendra Modi in New York, where both sides stressed the need for developing multifaceted ties and mutually beneficial cooperation on international platforms.
The Premier advised that various events are being held in Armenia on Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary as an evidence of deeply-rooted ties between the two nations. Prime Minister Pashinyan reaffirmed the invitation to his Indian counterpart to visit Armenia and expressed conviction that the visit will add momentum to the relations between Armenia and India.
Thankful for the warm welcome, Ambassador Kishan Dan Dewal said he would spare no effort to live up to his responsible mission by building on the strong ties of friendship between our two countries. The Ambassador noted that the Indian government is keen to reinvigorate the economic bonds with Armenia.
The parties went on to discuss issues relating to political and economic partnership. They specifically explored ways of deepening business, IT and tourism linkages, as well as implementing joint programs.
Prime Minister Pashinyan highlighted the signing of a free trade zone arrangement between the Eurasian Economic Union and India, which may catalyze the Armenian-Indian trade and economic relations.
Taking the opportunity, the interlocutors exchanged views on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement process and issues of regional significance.
