U.S. House’s recognition of Armenian Genocide culminated years of process: Pashinyan
The recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday is an important step towards the international recognition of the genocide and will certainly give a new impetus to that process, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a cabinet meeting on Thursday, Panorama.am reports.
“I would like to express my appreciation in this regard to the Armenian organizations in the Diaspora, in particular in the United States, which have worked consistently for decades to achieve the recognition of the genocide in the U.S. and elsewhere.
“In practice, this decision has matured for many years, since virtually all U.S. states have already recognized the Armenian Genocide on the state level. This became the pick, culmination of this process,” he stressed.
The prime minster expressed gratitude to members of the Armenian Cause in the U.S. House and, in general, to all the House members who backed the resolution.
