Artsakh Ombudsman Meets with Austrian MP and Counterpart
From November 5 to 6, Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic) Artak Beglaryan had meetings with a deputy of the Parliament of Austria and the Ombudsman of Vienna and discussed several issues of common interest, News.am reports.
During a meeting with Head of the Austria-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group Gudrun Kugler hosted by the Armenian National Committee of Austria, the Ombudsman presented the state, peculiarities of and problems with human rights protection in Artsakh. Kugler asked about nation-building in Artsakh, the history of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh, the trends for settlement of the conflict and the threats to human rights protection in the context of the conflict.
The parties attached importance to the need to raise awareness about Artsakh in Austria and strengthen ties in the future.
Beglaryan also met with Ombudsman of Vienna Narek Petrosyan, who introduced the Austrian model of human rights protection, and the parties exchanged their views on issues of mutual interest.
