Armenia's Government Wants Clarification of the Parameters of the Madrid Principles
For the Armenian government the clarification of the parameters of the Madrid Principles is important in order to accept or not accept these Principles as a base for the negotiation process of the NK conflict settlement, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a Q&A session in the Parliament, in response to the question of MP Arman Babajanyan, Armenpress reports.
''As long as all parameters of the Madrid Principles are not transparent for us, it’s difficult for us to say whether we accept it as a base for the negotiation process or not. In fact, the Madrid Principles are the way for the solution of the issue. But we want to understand what possible places this path can lead us to so that we can know in advance whether to move on this path or not'', the PM said, adding that they need to understand where these Principles will lead to.
Pashinyan stated that when it turns out that different sides want to move on various paths, it means there is a problem in the Madrid Principles, someone cheats the other one. “But we do not want to deceive anyone in the negotiation process and relations in general”, he said.
