Nikol Pashinyan, Sooronbay Jeenbekov Discuss Economic Relationship Development Prospects
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov on the sidelines of his working visit to Bishkek.
Welcoming the Armenian Prime Minister, the Kyrgyz President said the meeting was a good opportunity to discuss the development prospects of both the bilateral and multilateral ties. “Mr. Prime Minister, during our chairmanship at the CSTO we have done our utmost to develop and strengthen the Organization. We are interested in defying the emerging challenges with joint efforts, as well as developing the relations with friendly Armenia,” Sooronbay Jeenbekov said.
Thankful for the warm welcome, Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that the bilateral political relations go far back in history, and the two governments should take actions to develop economic cooperation.
“We can boost trade exchanges based on the existing potential. Geographical distance is not a problem in the 21st century; we need to come up with such initiatives as will help us promote economic ties between the two countries,” Nikol Pashinyan pointed out. With reference to the political situation in Kyrgyzstan, the Premier said he was pleased to see that the situation had been stabilized in the country. “We are closely cooperating within the CSTO, EAEU and CIS, which opens up good opportunities for both bilateral and multilateral cooperation,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
While discussing issues related to bilateral relations, the two leaders stressed the need for taking steps toward boosting economic partnership and business ties. The Prime Minister of Armenia and the Kyrgyz President exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation in the frame of integration associations.
