First Exploratory Visit to Armenia by a Delegation of the Austrian MoD
On the basis of the Armenia Cooperation Programme, an exploratory visit by a delegation of the Austrian MoD to the Human Rights and Building Integrity Centre (HRBIC) of the Armenian MoD took place from 26 to 27 November 2019.
The main purposes of the visit were to get familiarized with the technical and research capabilities of the MoD HRBIC Hotline, as well as to assess the training needs of the hotline operators through conducting an initial workshop & discussions. Based on the identified needs a tailored programme for the HRBIC will be designed covering the areas of “Research and Methodology” and “Education and Training of Operators”.
The overall objective of the programme is the strengthening of democratic control and oversight over the security sector. The Austrian Federal Ministry of Defence is one of the cooperation partners in the overall project, and the Austrian MoD's commitment focuses on supporting the Armenian Human Rights and Building Integrity Centre Hotline (Hotline Service).
