Armenia MFA Spokesperson on Statements by Azerbaijan FM

Sputnik

Azerbaijan is trying to compensate for the lack of its own arguments by always reiterating statements that contain elements of a deadlock. This is what Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Anna Naghdalyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am, touching upon the interview of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov in which he touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and stated the contradicting statements of Armenia as a reason for the lack of progress in the peace process. The President of Azerbaijan also gave an interview with similar content.

Azerbaijan is trying to compensate for the lack of its own arguments by always reiterating statements that contain elements of a deadlock. Perhaps those statements are somewhat valuable in the domestic politics of Azerbaijan, taking into consideration the transformations that the country is undergoing and the upcoming parliamentary elections, but they don’t contribute to the peace process in any way, and consequently, they have no value,” Naghdalyan stated.

In this regard, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia stated the following: “It is painful to see that the foreign minister of Azerbaijan is justifying the murder of 16-year-old Smbat Tsakanyan. This shows the Azerbaijani government’s real attitude towards the people living in the conflict zone. Once again, I would like to recall that the President of Azerbaijan has compared Ramil Safarov with the people who killed the minor. We believe the comparison speaks for itself.”
