May the borders of Armenia and Artsakh be impregnable. Serzh Sargsyan
Third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan issued a congratulatory message to the Armenian people on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas holidays. Armedia.am has learned this from the Facebook office Sargsyan’s office.
"Distinguished citizens of the Republic of Armenia,
Dear Compatriots,
Sisters and brothers in Artsakh and in the Diaspora,
I am congratulating all of you on the New Year and Christmas holidays.
I wish peace and prosperity to our country, love and warmth to your families. May your homes be always blessed with an atmosphere of happiness, mutual care and understanding! May the borders of Armenia and Artsakh be impregnable, so that we could have ever new opportunities for success and joy in our hospitable homes!
Our statehood is underpinned by the family where the national traditions are fostered and handed down to the next generation, including respect for the elderly and care for the young. Alien false morals and habits cannot undermine our national value system and endanger our ethnic identity and security.
The Holiday Season is one of our favorite family holidays, where all family members gather around the table, congratulate each other and wish well one another. Let us keep those precious values.
Dear Compatriots,
With God’s blessing and our nation’s collective potential, we will continue to struggle for the right of our compatriots to live freely and peacefully in the Republic of Artsakh.
Whatever our views on the past year’s gains and losses; no matter we view it as a successful year, or as a time of missed opportunities, hardships and trials, we all have one common desire, that is to see our state stronger and more prosperous, blessed with peace, where people are happy, because this little corner of the world is the homeland of our grandparents, our grandchildren: it is our dearest asset. And that common desire should prompt us to combine our efforts and act together with the understanding that the only way to survive as a nation and state in today’s challenging world is to beware of such steps as may undermine the country from the inside. Let us be broader-minded, more vigilant and realistic in the coming year.
On the New Year’s Eve, we propose a toast to the Armenian Army, to our soldiers and officers; we commemorate our heroes, wishing fortitude and strength for their families.
May God protect our country, our valiant defenders of homeland and nation!
Happy New Year and Merry Christmas!"
