PM Receives Georgian Defense Minister
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Garibashvili, who is in Armenia on official visit.
Welcoming the Georgian Defense Minister and his delegation to Armenia, the Prime Minister stressed the need for continued development of Armenian-Georgian strategic relations. Nikol Pashinyan noted that partnership in the sphere of defense is a key component of bilateral relations and appreciated today’s signing of the cooperation program for 2020 between the two Defense Ministries.
Irakli Garibashvili said he was glad to visit friendly Armenia again, a country with which Georgia entertains close ties of friendship and strong partnering. He voiced satisfaction with the ongoing joint work with the Armenian Defense Minister and the meeting, which marked the signing of the 2020 Cooperation Program.
The meeting focused on issues related to bilateral relations, including defense. Prime Minister Pashinyan and Irakli Garibashvili stressed that the two nations are bound by centuries-old historical, cultural ties and Christian values, which provide a solid basis for closer interaction between the two countries.
With reference to regional security challenges, Nikol Pashinyan and Irakli Garibashvili exchanged views on the peaceful settlements of conflicts. They agreed that joint efforts should be made to this end.
