PM Nikol Pashinyan, Josep Borrell Meet in Brussels
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with European Commission Vice-President / EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.
Highlighting the development of EU-Armenia relations, the parties discussed issues of continued assistance to the reforms underway in Armenia. Josep Borrell reaffirmed EU’s readiness to back the reform process. He welcomed the fight against corruption, the ongoing judicial reform and the developments in other spheres.
As an important component of EU-Armenia cooperation, Prime Minister Pashinyan and Josep Borrell stressed the need for speedy ratification of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement by EU-member states and its full realization. The interlocutors referred to the possibility of starting EU-Armenia visa liberalization talks.
Nikol Pashinyan and Josep Borrell exchanged views on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement process. Mr. Borrell reaffirmed EU’s support for the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
