Statement of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia on Restrictions Enforced within the Framework of Prevention of Novel Coronavirus
As part of the global fight against the novel coronavirus, different countries restricted and continue to restrict the access to their airspace and the air communication, which have complicated the arrangement of our citizens’ return to Armenia. In this regard, we urge our citizens to check the availability of transit flights in advance.
Additionally, according to the decision of the government of the Russian Federation, further on, departing and arriving flights between the airports of Russian Federation and foreign airports carrying out the return of foreign nationals to their home countries (transit flights) will not be operating within the framework of regular and charter air communication.
The Foreign Ministry and the diplomatic representations of Armenia abroad collect the information about our citizens abroad and the issues they encounter to evaluate and identify possible ways of assistance. The diplomatic representations of Armenia are in constant contact with our citizens abroad who have reached out to our diplomatic missions, and the steps are being taken to resolve their issues to the extent possible.
We urge the citizens of Armenia abroad to keep in touch with the diplomatic missions of Armenia on-site, in order to receive the possible appropriate assistance.
Once again we urge our citizens abroad, taking into account current circumstances and the impossibility to return to homeland during this period, to follow the instructions and measures taken in countries of their residence aimed at combating the coronavirus; to maintain calm while realistically assessing the situation.
