Russia Peacekeepers are Transferred to Area of their Operation in Karabakh

The Russian peacekeepers that have arrived in Armenia and have moved to the area of monitoring the ceasefire and the ceasing of hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict zoneNews.am reports.

"The military convoys shall go more than 250 km and deploy the peacekeeping troops with Russian observation posts along the Nagorno-Karabakh line of contact and the Lachin corridor," the respective statement says.

Earlier it was reported that more than 400 Russian peacekeepers from 15 separate peacekeeping brigades have already arrived in the conflict zone.

The Russian Defense Ministry reminded that 1,960 servicemen, 90 armored personnel carriers, and 380 vehicles and special equipment will be transported to deploy a peacekeeping force in the Karabakh conflict zone.

The ministry also notes that in order to monitor the compliance with the agreement on ceasing hostilities, Russian observation points will be set up along the Nagorno-Karabakh line of contact, as well as at the Lachin corridor connecting Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. The peacekeeping operation command will be located in the Artsakh capital Stepanakert.
