Black Fungus Detected in Covid-19 Survivors, Patients with Weak Immunity at Higher Risk
As India reels under the second wave of Covid-19, cases of deadly fungal infection-mucormycosis are rising in recovered patients, IndiaToday reports. Cases of mucormycosis, commonly known as black fungus, have been reported from Gujarat among those who have recovered from Covid-19.
The fungal infection is caused by a group of moulds calle musormysetes. These moulds live throughout the envirenment. Mucormycosis mainly affects people who have health problems or take medicines that lower the body's ability to fight germs and sickness.
