Armenia MOD: Azerbaijani Defense Ministry Disseminated Disinformation About 40 Armenian Soldiers Crossing Border

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan has, once again, disseminated disinformation according to which, on the evening of June 1, 40 Armenian servicemen crossed the border of Azerbaijan, after which the units of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan “forced them to return to their starting positions”, as reported the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.

“It’s clear that the Azerbaijani military-political leadership is circulating this disinformation in order to create an impression among the international community about the attempts of the Armed Forces of Armenia to escalate the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and counterbalance the provocation by the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan to infiltrate into the territory of the Republic of Armenia on May 12 and 13.

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia declares that, neither on June 1 nor the preceding days, the Armed Forces of Armenia have not crossed the border of Azerbaijan, and all claims about this are disinformation being disseminated by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, the amount of which has essentially grown recently.

In particular, a few days ago, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan claimed that the Armenian side had opened fire at the Azerbaijani military positions located on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and in the direction of Shushi, which was refuted, respectively, by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia and the command of the peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation carrying out its peacekeeping mission in the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic),” the Armenian MOD’s press release reads.
