Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a message to Emmanuel Macron, congratulating him on his re-election as France’s chief executive, the Kremlin press service reported on Monday, TASS reports.
"I sincerely wish you success in statesmanship, as well as good health and prosperity," Putin’s message reads, according to the Kremlin.
According to the French Interior Ministry, Macron gained 58.5% of the vote in Sunday’s presidential runoff, while his rival, National Rally candidate Marine Le Pen received 41.5%.
