Turkey holds firm to its stance against the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO until Ankara’s previously voiced requirements are met, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday, TASS reports.
"We are not changing our position in regard to NATO’s further expansion until all of our expectations are fulfilled," President Erdogan said speaking at the Congress of the ruling Justice and Development Party.
On May 18, Turkish leader Erdogan said that ''Ankara would refuse to support Sweden and Finland joining NATO if they remain on the fence regarding these terrorist organizations, including the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) which Turkey regards as such''.
