The EU may review its sanctions against Russia, if Moscow changes its position on the Ukrainian crisis and implements agreement of Minsk, says The Wall Street Journal referring to the document of Foreign Affairs Council that will be discussed on the 19th of January.

The EU is expected to review its policy and restart talks with Russia on the issues like visa-free travel with Russia, cooperation with Eurasian Economic Union and situation in Libya, Syria and Iraq.

The decision of the EU will depend on the implementation of the Minsk agreements on Ukraine, gas related policy and the position of Russia on the issue of economic and political cooperation of Ukraine and the EU.

The document will be delivered to the heads of MFAs of the EU member states and will be discussed on the 19th of January in Foreign Affairs Council.

Improvement of this situation and building bridges between the two unions – the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union will be a necessity and an important step for the whole region, for Armenia as well. Moreover, in this situation, Armenia has its special role in building bridges, taking into account its relations both with the EU and Russia.
