In the meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, who was in an official visit to Palestine and Israel, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas declared that Palestine is ready for peace talks with Israel based on the Arab peace initiatives and the UN resolutions, reports the Jerusalem Post.

Abbas called Israel to "choose between peace and settlement expansion", and added: "You can’t achieve peace through collective punishment by withholding our money, and not through racist measures on the ground and the continued incarceration of thousands of prisoners."

The President of the Palestinian Authorities also expressed his solidarity concerning the two Japanese that are in the hands of the "Islamic State" terrorists and called this a "violation of all moral and humane values".
