In Strasbourg the PACE winter session started. On the first day of the session, the Assembly will hold a ceremony to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. During the session the question of the rights of the Russian Delegation and the humanitarian situation in Ukraine will be discussed. Sanctions against Russia are on the January 26 agenda. Last year PACE had already deprived Russia from the right to vote because of the situation over Crimea.
Such issues like freedom of speech, discrimination and intolerance in Europe will also be discussed in this session.
