Turkey will Make Constitutional Change for Strengthening the Presidency
In response to accusations for the change of the political system in Turkey, the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, said that the United Kingdom is a semi-presidential country, where the Queen is the dominant, reports Hurriyet. "In my opinion, Britain is a semi-presidency. The predominant constituent is the Queen,"- said Erdogan.
Commenting on the opposition criticism that he wants to become a "sultan", Erdogan said: "Why is it only a padishah system when an idea like this is floated in Turkey?"
The Turkish President also declared that by early June a central question in polls will be constitutional change for strengthening the presidency.
