The US and Jordan Have Signed a Memorandum of Understanding

The United States will send 1 million dollars to Jordan every year in the form of financial assistance, the US Secretary of State John Kerry announced after signing with the Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh a Memorandum of Understanding for US bilateral assistance to Jordan , reports Tass.

"In the past five years, the level of assistance in this memorandum was $600 million annually. Starting now and continuing through 2017, that level will go up sharply to 1 billion a year, which covers a wide range of programs in the areas of economic support, technical help, and security," – is written in the official website of the US Department of State. The US Secretary of State also expressed his hope that "the provisions of this memorandum will strengthen the forces of civility and moderation everywhere, because it will bolster a country and a leadership team that has been steadfast in its support for both."

In his turn the Jordanian Foreign Minister thanked for the warm words and said that the relationship between the US and Jordan is "a true partnership, especially in the face of the multitude of challenges that we face not just in our part of the world, but globally."
