Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov after the meeting with his colleague, Foreign Minister of Greece, Nikos Kotzias, declared that the sanctions against Russia, which present pure "expression of revenge", will remain on the conscience of their authors, TASS reports.

"The questions concerning sanctions against Russia should not be addressed to me, but to the initiators of those sanctions. We appreciate the position of the representatives of Greek, Government, who acknowledge that the language of sanctions towards Russia will only be destructive", - Foreign Minister of Russia stated.

In his statement Lavorv explained the motive of the West on this issue in the following way:

"After the intrusion of the Kiev forces in the Southeastern direction was not successful, militias strengthened their positions and began to protect their lands. In response to this the West, as a sign of revenge, enforced sanctions against Russia. Those sanctions remain on the conscience of their initiators, among whom the present government of Greece is not present."
