According to the new decision of the government of Azerbaijan foreigners and people with no citizenship have got the right to serve in the armed forces of Azerbaijan, repots haqqin.az.
It is enough to present identification document, statement of purpose, copy of the document on education and a photo to start a service in the army. Individuals starting from 19 years old are eligible for contractual military service, provided they have secondary education and are not older than 40. Women of 19-40 years old are also eligible for contractual military service.
Military contracts with foreigners and individuals without citizenship can be signed for three years, after which it can be prolonged by agreement of the sides. Foreigners can resign from military service in case of the decision on their expulsion from the country or in case of annulment of the military contract.
