Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic swore in as Croatia's first female president on Sunday after a surprise election victory and became forth elected president of the state since independence from the former Yugoslavia. Grabar-Kitarovic, a former foreign minister, ambassador to Washington, ex-assistant to the NATO Secretary-general, said she will work on making Croatia a rich state. "I wish we start living the lives of people in the European Union", - said the new president.
Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic’s duties as president begin officially on 19 February.
