On February 18 the Foreign Minister of Armenia Eduard Nalbandyan received the Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland. As the press service of MFA informs, Eduard Nalbandyan highly appreciated the friendly relations between Armenia and the US. He expressed a hope that with joint efforts the bilateral cooperation will further strengthen and deepen.
In her turn Victoria Nuland mentioned that the United States attached great importance to the development of the cooperation with Armenia in different spheres and are ready for further efforts in this direction.
Victoria Nuland stressed the positive achievements of Armenia in the sphere of democracy, civil society, economic reforms and so forth. During the meeting the sides have exchanged opinions on the Ukrainian crisis and the Middle East developments. Referring to the negotiation process of the Nagormo-Karabakh conflict settlement, both Nalbandyan and Nuland agreed that it should have a peaceful settlement based on non use of force or the threat of force, the principles of territorial integrity and self-determination. In this regard the Minister Nalbandyan stressed the role and the contribution of the US as a Minsk Group co-chair.
