The US continue to use a "stick and carrot" strategy towards Israel. The US Secretary of State John Kerry warned Israel not to undercut Iran nuclear negotiations that are to resume on Monday a day before an Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is going to make the case against his diplomacy before the U.S. Congress. On the occasion John Kerry particularly noted:
"We are concerned by reports that suggest selective details of the ongoing negotiations will be discussed publicly in the coming days. Doing so would make it more difficult to reach the goal that Israel and others say they share in order to get to a good deal. Israel’s security is absolutely at the forefront of all of our minds, but frankly so is the security of all of the other countries in the region. So is our security,"- reports Reuters.
Using the "stick" against Israel at the same time Kerry did not hesitate to offer "carrot" to it by defending Israel before the U.N. Human Rights Council positioning against the UN anti-Israeli resolutions.
