Japan to Participate in Peacekeeping Missions of EU

21:10     4 March, 2015

The Japanese government is considering the possibility of participation of national self-defense forces in the peacekeeping missions of the EU, TASS reports. It is mentioned that this is the first practice of the self-defense forces of Japan.  Previously they have participated only in the peacekeeping missions of the UN. This initiative is seen as another step in the direction of the so-called collective defense – a resolution adopted by the Japanese government in 2014.
