US Senators: Iran Possible Nuclear Agreement Will Last as Long as Obama is President

US 47 Republican senators warned Iran's leadership that even if Obama managed to reach a nuclear agreement with the Iranian side, it would  last as long as Obama was the US President, Reuters reports.

In an open letter to Iran's leaders, the senators noted that President Barack Obama will leave office in January 2017, "while most of us will remain in office well beyond then - perhaps decades."

"The next president could revoke such an executive agreement with the stroke of a pen, and future Congresses could modify the terms of the agreement at any time," the letter reads.

In response Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif noted: "It is propaganda and has no legal value ... Change of the government does not mean cancellation of that country's international legal obligations."
