A meeting in preparations for events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was held in the Syrian People's Assembly. As Hayern Aysor reports referring to the Syrian SANA News Agency, the Committee on Public Freedoms and the Committee on National Reconciliation of the Syrian People’s Assembly had a meeting with RA Ambassador to Syria Arshak Poladyan and leader of the Armenian Diocese of Damascus, Bishop Armash Nalbandian.

The participants of the meeting mentioned that what now happens in northern Syria is a continuation of the cruel policy of the Ottoman Turks against the Armenians. The RA Ambassador to Syria Arshak Poladyan expressed words of gratitude to the Syrian people for treating the Armenians humanly and virtuously. Bishop Armash Nalbandian, in his turn, condemned the crime against the Armenians and Syrians and stressed the importance of dialogue.
