The United States have imposed new sanctions on Russian bank in Crimea and the Eurasian Youth Union as well as frozen assets and prohibited business of "14 Ukrainian separatists" and Russians, among whom is former prime minister of Ukraine, BBC reports
President Barack Obama and European leaders described the new sections as a main form of retaliation for Russia's "annexation" of Crimea and for supporting "separatists" groups in eastern Ukraine.
In response Russia Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told that the new wave of sanctions were "difficult to understand". On the occasion he particularly noted:
"We categorically do not see any link between what has recently been happening in south-eastern Ukraine and these sorts of actions," BBC informs referring to the news agency Interfax.
