The International Monetary Fund has approved a four-year aid program for Ukraine worth around $17.5 billion, euronews.com reports.
The approval of the EFF for Ukraine foresees the allocation of the first tranche worth $5 billion, which is to be paid immediately to help stabilize Ukraine’s ailing economy, the IMF said.
"This is a four-year program in response to the reforms undertaken in Ukraine and which obliged us not to stop and to move forward," said Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
