Venezuela’s National Assembly granted special decree powers to President Nicolas Maduro on Sunday to combat what he calls US "imperialism and aggression".
The so-called Anti-Imperialist Enabling Law gives Mr. Maduro the ability to pass laws without congressional approval through the rest of 2015. The president will have decree powers through key parliamentary elections slated for later this year, the Wall Street Journal reports.
