The tense competition in Israel between the leaders of the Likud party and the Zionist Union continue. Even at the last minute of the closure of polling stations, Netanyahu and Herzog exchanged criticism, the Jerusalem Post reports. Herzog said Netanyahu’s "panic is embarrassing."
In his turn Netanyahu warned against voting for the Zionist Union, who he said was supported by the Joint Arab List.
In a response Herzog said: "We don't want to suddenly find out tonight that we're getting an extremist government consisting of Netanyahu and Marzel that will tear Israel apart," – Jerusalem Post reports.
