The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has fined Turkey 11,000 euros for violating the right to a fair trial within a reasonable time, Hurriyet reports. The case for which Turkey was fined was the case of the death of two children and injury of a group of children as a result of an explosion.
The incident took place in 1999, but the applicants' received compensation they demanded only in 2011, which ECHR considered as a violation of the applicants’ right to a fair trial within a reasonable time.
