Religious Bill Rejected as It Lacked Tolerance

20:23     1 April, 2015

On April 1, a religion bill was rejected by Republican Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson after much criticism that the draft bill is discriminating against gays and lesbians. As Reuters reports the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) was sent back to the Republican-controlled legislature to be rewritten to better balance tolerance for diversity and protections of religious freedom.

"We want to be known as a state that does not discriminate, but understands tolerance. That is the challenge that we face," – Reuters quotes Hutchinson’s words.
