In the Czech Republic the national currency can be replaced by euro, as the country can join the euro zone in 2020. This was stated by Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, Tass reports.
According to him, "this is the closest technically possible term for adopting the single currency" in the country, korrespondent.net reports. "It would be good to set a concrete date in the calculation of the transition to euro", - Sobotka said. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister acknowledged that "unfortunately, the government still does not have any agreement on the date of the adoption of euro."
According to surveys, only 19% of citizens want the country to join the euro area, whereas expressed 47% of them are categorically against it.
