The USS Theodore Roosevelt, the carrier, and the guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy have been sent to Yemen, the Washington Post reports. They will join seven other U.S. combat ships and three Navy re-supply ships off the coast of Yemen.
As the source reports referring to the Pentagon Statement, the additional ships were sent to ensure that vital shipping lanes in the region remain safe and open.
