President of Germany Ioakim Gauck proposed to openly discuss the issue of Germany reparations with Athens, Kommersant reports.
"We are not only people who are living in this day and age but we're also the descendants of those who left behind a trail of destruction in Europe during World War Two - in Greece, among other places, where we shamefully knew little about it for so long," the president said.
Gauck underlined, that although he shares the general policy of German government on the issue of reparations, he also attentively follows different discussions of how may the process of conpensations be made.
