On May 7 Toronto City Council adopted a motion on the Armenian Genocide. "City Council recognizes the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide to honour the memory of the men, women and children who died," the Motion reads, armeniangenocide100.org reports.
According to the source, the Motion was brought forward by Councillor Jim Karygiannis and, through strong support from friends of the Armenian community and it received the two-thirds majority of the votes.
