The former President of Uruguay Jose Mujica was present in an event in Uruguay at Montevideo Plaza Armenia, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and dedicated to the memory of the 20 Hunchakian Martyrs. The event was organized by the Armenian Community of Uruguay, Artsakhpress reports.
According to the source, which refers to Masis Post, the event was also attended by community members and the representatives of Armenian Embassy in Argentina.
Mujica laid a wreath at the Plaza’s Khachtkar and twenty flowers at the Armenian Genocide monument, after which 20 doves were released in honor of the martyrs.
