More than three years after the two countries broke diplomatic ties, Tunisia is expected to open the consulate-general in the Syrian capital of Damascus, Sputnik News reports, referring to Bahraini newspaper al-Wasat.
According to the source Tunisian diplomat Ibrahim al-Fawari and staff members might arrive in Damascus within days. The consulate is to be opened in the building, which used to house Tunisian embassy in Syria.
