Iraqi Prime Minister Haydar al-Abadi abolished the posts of Vice-President and Deputy Prime Minister, Interfax reports with reference to the inter-Arab TV station Al-Arabiya. According to him, the decision takes effect immediately.
A similar decision was made in the fight against corruption and costs reduction. The text of Haydar al-Abadi’s decree is posted on his Facebook page.
He also stressed that "all past and present cases of corruption will be opened" and will be administered by the anti-corruption commission.
In addition, according to the Iraqi Prime Minister, the number of security guards for the government will be reduced.
