Turkish forces have killed 771 militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq and southeastern Turkey over the last four weeks, Hurriyet reports referring to Anadolu Agency.
Among them 430 rebels died in air raids on PKK camps in northern Iraq. Another 260 were killed in ground operations in southeastern Turkey.
The PKK, for its part, has been blamed for attacks that have killed around 50 Turkish soldiers.
It is also reported that PKK declared an autonomous region in the Dersim province. Rudaw News Agency informed that PKK fighters established checkpoints on the main road.
