Kurdish forces declared that 300 "military advisers" deployed into Iraq were engaged in a covert ground fight against the Islamic State fighter, Guardian reports.
"They fight and they even fight ahead of the Peshmerga. They won’t allow anyone to take photos of them, but they take photos of everyone." Karwan Hama Tata, a Peshmerga volunteer noted.
To prove their words the Kurds also provided the Guardian with a video that appeared to show American soldiers fighting alongside Kurdish forces, and others also provided footage or photographs which showed US personnel actively involved in combat.
One video shows Americans operating machine gun nests near the city of Kirkuk, while others say US forces took part in operations to retake the villages of Wastana and Dawus al Aloka. There are also reports of US snipers replacing Kurds.
