The European Union was willing to pay the salary of the Ukrainian officials, especially to law enforcement officials, to support reforms, but the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk refused the offer. This was stated by the head of the Odesa region Mikhail Saakashvili in an interview with "SavikShusterStudio," Interfax reports.
"The Europeans were ready this year to pay our officials (...) to several thousand state officials. It is, first of all, investigators, tax authorities, middle and senior managers in the ministries, where important decisions are made (... ) The Prime Minister said: "You know, if you do not pay all, I'm not ready," Saakashvili said.
